You Have Questions? We Have Answers!

Selecting and purchasing a Monument or headstone is often performed on behalf of a recently passed family member. If you have never purchased a memorial we understand how you could have many questions. Below you will find answers to some of the most commonly asked questions.
How long does it take to make a monument?
For standard memorials, the typical completion time is approximately 90 - 120 days, while non-standard memorials may take 140 days or more. Timelines may vary depending on seasonal workload or weather.
Why does the process take so long?
The longest part of the process is receiving the stone, which can take anywhere from 60 - 140 days. Some of our granite colors come from different parts of the world and can spend over a month sailing on the water. Once we receive the stone, the memorial is placed in production. While we make every effort to get to it as soon as possible, these factors do influence the time it takes to make and install a memorial.
What are my payment options?
We have several options when it comes to payments.
Pay in Full: The total amount is paid at the point of sale and this will get the process started as normal.
Pay Half: Half of the total amount owed is paid at the point of sale and this will also get the process started as normal. The remaining balance can be paid at any time BEFORE the monument is set. The remaining balance is required before pickup or installation of the monument in the cemetery.
Payout: Contact a representative to discuss other payment options.
Is the future death date included when I buy a memorial? Can I pay now?
No. Pre-paying for services to be rendered at an unknown future time would require the money to be put in a state regulated account. This protects the customer from paying for something that a business may not be able to provide at that time. The fees associated with regulating this would increase the cost more than typical inflation due to time. The cost of adding a date to a memorial is based on the distance of the cemetery from our location.
How soon after someone passes do I need to purchase a memorial?
Whenever you are ready. A common misconception is you have to let the grave settle. If the grave is dug properly, and undisturbed ground is left at the head of the grave, we will be able to place the stone with no issues. There is no right or wrong timeframe but six months to a year after someone passes is the most common.
On what days do you install memorials?
Our installation schedule is Monday through Friday. We will work with our customers to schedule a time that is convenient during those days.
How do I clean my memorial?
The most common way to clean a stone is with dawn dish washing soap and water using a stiff bristle brush (not metal).
What material is used for memorials?
The primary material we use is granite which comes in a variety of colors and is very dense allowing it to last over time. Marble, however, is a softer stone which can deteriorate over time. Mold can easily grow on marble because it is a very porous stone. Granite has stood the test of time making it a very popular and our preferred choice for memorials.
What do I need when purchasing a memorial?
All you need is the information that will be going on the memorial. Our shop has a large display so you can see different sizes, shapes, and colors. Once you have an idea of the type of stone, we will design the memorial on our software so you can see exactly how it will look. Everything is digitally created to scale to give you the best idea of what the memorial will look like and we will print a copy for you to have. This allows you to show friends and family, and also verify the information and design if necessary. This process usually takes approximately an hour.
Do I have to own the cemetery property to set a monument?
You do not have to own the cemetery space in order to set a monument, however you will need permission from the property owner in order to set.
If permission has not been given it is the property owner's right to have the monument removed.
Can I add to an existing monument?
Typically yes, but each situation is different. We would need to look at the stone before a definitive answer can be given. As long as there is room and it would not get into the existing design we can add additional lettering or other design elements.
Can I pre-order a monument?
Yes. Monuments can be pre-ordered as a means of ensuring that your wishes, or those of a loved one, are carried out. It can also lighten the burdens placed on children and family members once someone has passed.

If a monument is pre-ordered it is required that we set the monument when it is completed. We are not allowed to hold or store the monument until it is needed. Once the monument is set in the cemetery anything added to it may incur an additional charge.
Can I see a proof of the art work?
We provide a proof for all of our designs at no charge. Everything is designed on our software to scale so you are able to see how the monument will look once finished.
